Windhoek, Namibia – 10 July 2026 – Namibia Wildlife Resorts wishes to inform guests that water levels in the Fish River are still receding, but remain too high for the Fish River Hiking Trail to reopen.

 

The trail is not yet safe for hiking and remains temporarily closed. NWR continues to monitor the situation with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.

 

A clearer update is expected within the next week, once more accurate information is available.
