The State-owned tour operator will be inaugurating its second Board of Directors since the implementation of
the Cabinet-endorsed Turn-around Strategy. The event takes place on 4th February 2010 at the Head Office of
the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and will be officiated by the Minister, Honourable Netumbo Nandi-
Ndaitwah.The outgoing Board under the Chairmanship of Mr. Klemens /Awarab has during its 3-year tenure successfully overseen the implementation of key company projects during the Turnaround Strategy. Their term lapsed in October 2009, and after an extension of 2 months, have officially handed over to the new Board to lead the company into the next phase of growth and sustainability.
The Board during the lapsed phase was constituted of Mr. Klemens /Awarab, Chairperson, Ms. Rieth van Schalkwyk, Vice-Chairperson, Dr. Aupindi Tobie Aupindi, Managing Director, Ms. Maria Kasita, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, Messrs. Epsom Jossop and Mr. Ananias Abner.
The new Board have commenced with their 3-year term as of January 1st 2010, taking over from their predecessors who have officially held office from October 2006 until October 2009. As was expected the company has once again drawn onto the services of appointees that bring vast experiences acquired over years in their respective fields to give the company expert direction in its decision-making process.
The New Board under the leadership of Ms. Jacqueline Asheeke, Chairperson and Mr. Epsom Jossop, Vice-Chairperson is comprised of Dr. Aupindi Tobie Aupindi, Managing Director, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, Dr. Nashilongo Shivute and Messrs. Pierre du Preez and Festus Nghifenwa. The incumbents are expected to build on the successes and achievements of the outgoing Board.
