2011 - Here we come

Let us start by wishing you all the very best for 2011! We trust that you were able to take a rest and have returned refreshed and ready for an exciting year ahead.

Every year, the New Year brings with it a time of reflection of the year behind, and a new outlook for the year ahead - filled with resolutions and a drive to make positive changes and move ahead to reach our goals. NWR is no exception.

As we reflect on 2010 we remember a truly amazing year – with volcanoes, recessions and soccer taking centre stage – one that will be remembered for years to come. Our Managing Director, Dr Tobie Aupindi also left NWR end of December. Dr Aupindi spearheaded the turnaround of NWR over the past five years, and has undoubtedly set his sights on greater challenges ahead! We wish him all the very best – he has left an indelible mark on NWR!

At NWR, however, things do not stand still, and the NWR team is filled with enthusiasm and looking forward with great anticipation to what 2011 will have in store. In December we officially closed Gross Barmen for a major redevelopment, and our new exciting camp in the pristine and formally restricted western Etosha, Dolomite Camp, is progressing extremely well and will unquestionably be one of the NWR highlights of 2011.

Following excellent rains throughout Namibia in the first two weeks of January 2011, the Namibian landscape has erupted in an outburst of life and abundance. The NWR team has likewise entered 2011 with a sense of energy, optimism and renewal, and we are focussing our attention forward, to continue to offer you the most memorable experiences in Namibia, in the most pristine areas of our country – and more.

Welcome aboard NWR 2011 – we look forward to sharing our exciting journey with you.
