92 km from Windhoek, Gross Barmen is located on the banks of a tributary of the Swakop River.  The focal point of the resort is the thermal spring which supplies water, at 65˚C, to both the indoor and outdoor pools.  The reed-beds in the dam and the surrounding natural environment provide ideal opportunities for bird-watching.
